The Stewards interviewed Mr J.C. Barry, rider of Kalanisi Star (GB), concerning his use of the whip in latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he had breached Regulation 10 and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied Mr. J.C. Barry was in breach of R10.3(i)(time to respond) and having considered his record, they cautioned him on this occasion

An I.N.H. flat race for four, five, six and seven years old only that have not won a race under any N.H. Rules or Rules of Racing and which at entry have been placed first, second, third or fourth in a Point to Point Steeplechase in Ireland since 19th September, 2020
Weights - 4-y-o 11st 4lbs 5, 6 and 7-y-o 12st Mares allowed 7lbs
Riders - Qualified Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules. All horses running in this race must hold a current Hunters Certificate. A Hunter Certificate valid in accordance with Rule 78 for the 2021/2022 season for each horse engaged must be registered at the Office of the I.N.H.S. Committee, The Curragh, Co. Kildare not later than 7th March or the horse will not be qualified to start. The Stewards of the I.N.H.S. Committee have suspended the relevant part of Rule 78 to enable horses which run in this race (excluding the winner) to retain their Hunters Certificate for the remainder of the 2021/2022 season. HRI Directive 10 has been suspended for the purpose of this race and the following procedures for elimination and balloting of horses will apply. (i) The number of declared runners shall be reduced by first balloting those horses that have not won a Point-to-Point steeplechase since 19th September, 2020 (ii) In the event of Paragraph (i) not achieving the recommended limit a random ballot will then be applied to the remaining horses.
