Turning into the home straight, the winner, Feel The Pinch (GB), clipped the heels of a weakening Lakefield Flyer (IRE), placed third, and stumbled, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Feel The Pinch (GB).
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Lakefield Flyer (IRE), placed third, was treated for post-race heat stress.
