THE SEASON FINALE ON MONDAY 23RD OCTOBER HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 5) (DIV I) Permission was given for DERWENT BOY to go early to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching two furlongs out when KING’S CROWN (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Callum Rodriguez interfered with TELLUS, unplaced, ridden by Jason Hart.
The interference was found to be accidental as KING’S CROWN (IRE) lugged quickly left-handed towards the rail before being quickly corrected by the rider, causing Hart to be tight for room against the rail.
An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong involving the winner, BEAUTY CHOICE, ridden by Joanna Mason; KING OF TONGA (IRE), placed third, ridden by Zak Wheatley; ONEMORENOMORE, placed second, ridden by Tom Marquand and HAVANA PURSUIT, unplaced, ridden by David Allan.
The interference was found to be accidental as KING OF TONGA (IRE) lugged left- handed after shying away from the improving BEAUTY CHOICE to its outside, causing Allan to become tight for room up against Marquand, causing Allan to take a check.
Following the race, David Allan reported that HAVANA PURSUIT, unplaced, suffered interference inside the final furlong and David Nolan reported that DERWENT BOY, unplaced, ran too free.
