- Stewards Report
The winner, Windance (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Exeter on 1 February 2023, where the gelding was pulled up.
Anthony Honeyball explained that the gelding benefited from a slower run race on this occasion, a step up in trip from 2 miles 3 furlongs, to 3 miles 2 furlongs, and a smaller field than last time.
His explanation was noted and Windance (IRE) was routine tested.
The performance of Ozzie Man (IRE), which started favourite and pulled up, was considered.
Gary Moore’s representative could offer no explanation for the gelding’s poor performance other than Caoilin Quinn reporting that Ozzie Man (IRE) was never travelling; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post- race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, The Veterinary Officer reported that A Time To Shine (IRE), placed second, finished lame on its left-fore leg.
