Approaching 1 ½ furlongs out, the winner, Matewan (IRE) hung quickly right causing the rider of Doctor Cross (IRE), placed fourth, to briefly take back, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Matewan (IRE).
Following the race, Daniel Tudhope reported that Ingleby Hollow (GB), placed third, was denied a clear run 1 ½ furlongs out.
