I'm really fond of this filly and I'd love to finish now with a view to going to Royal Ascot for the Commonwealth Cup with her next year; that's what I'm dreaming of. I think we were just riding her wrong the last twice. We were trying to hold her up and make her get home and I think we cheesed her off a little bit. Today she got six (furlongs) very well and she was going away from them at the line. It gives us a lot of hope for next year too because you don't want an out-and-out five furlong filly. It's great for the team (Irish National Stud Breeding&Racing Club) and there are quite a few of them here today enjoying the day. She's a good filly going forward and we'll let her grow into herself. The Stewards requested a report from W. McCreery, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Lethal Promise, placed first, as compared with its recent run in a Listed race at Newbury on the 17th August. W

McCreery reported that his charge was held up on tacky ground at Newbury over five furlongs whereas today the tactics were changed to allow her to stride along in front on ground that appeared to be more suited by her. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report

The Stewards enquired into an incident about four furlongs from the finish involving Inverleigh, ridden by G.F

Carroll, placed second, Isle Of Innisfree (USA), ridden by W.M. Lordan, unplaced, Fantasy, ridden by J.A

Heffernan, unplaced and Nitro Boost, ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed sixth, where it appeared that Isle of Innisfree (USA) was very tight for room when running freely close to the running rail. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that any interference caused was accidental in nature and took no further action.
