Rounding the home bend, Hi Clare (IRE), placed third, hung right-handed carrying Lady Nagin (IRE), unplaced, off its intended line which in turn intimidated Dragon Glory (IRE), placed second, wider and into the path of the winner, Believing (IRE), which was slightly hampered but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.

Passing the 1 furlong marker, the winner, Believing (IRE), shifted sharply left-handed away from the whip before being quickly corrected by its rider, hampering Dragon Glory (IRE), placed second, and carrying that filly across the running of Lady Nagin (IRE), unplaced, which had to be significantly checked by its rider and in turn carried Hi Clare (IRE), placed third, and Pearls Of Joy (GB), placed fourth, off their intended lines, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Believing (IRE).

Following the race, James Doyle reported that the winner, Believing (IRE), was slowly away and hung left-handed and Ray Dawson reported that Lady Nagin (IRE), unplaced, ran too free.
