The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident about one furlong from the finish involving High Morale (GB), ridden by D. McMonagle, and Expecto, ridden by R.P. Cleary where it appeared that Expecto checked when High Morale (GB) made an outward manoeuvre. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, R.P

Cleary stated that his mount was going back out of the race when High Morale (GB) went sharply to the left and he took a precautionary check at that point. D. McMonagle stated that his mount began to race in the straight but ran into traffic. He added that he manoeuvred out to the left when clear of Expecto but his mount over reacted. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action on this occasion.
