Permission was given for Excel Power (IRE) to wear a red hood to post, for Nap Hand (IRE) and Thapa VC (IRE) to go early to post and be mounted in the chute, and for Diderot (GB) to go early and be led to post.
Mark Rimell was cautioned as Thapa VC (IRE) had arrived in the Parade Ring without its declared cheekpieces which were then located and fitted to the gelding before going to the start.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately half a furlong out involving Excel Power (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Luke Morris, High Spirited (IRE), placed third, ridden by Trevor Whelan, and Thapa VC (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by David Probert.
The interference was found to be accidental as Thapa VC (IRE) shifted quickly left-handed making contact with High Spirited (IRE), moving the filly off her intended line causing her to give a bump to Excel Power.
Following the race, Billy Loughnane reported that Composite (GB), placed second, hung left-handed, and Trevor Whelan reported that High Spirited (IRE), placed third, was slowly away.
