That was some ride, pure balls!. We were disappointed with him the last day at Bellewstown and, while the ground was lovely, it wasn't quite soft enough for him. He went to sleep and never travelled but I prayed fro rain last night and Shane gave him a hell of a ride. He needs a strong pace and you have to be brave on him . He deserved the win.

The Stewards requested a report from Patrick Martin, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Reckless Lad, placed first, as compared with its recent run at Bellewstown on the 3rd July. Patrick Martin reported that the ease in ground conditions was a significant factor in his charges improved run compared to the good to firm ground at Bellewstown. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report. V.Clifford, trainer of Hurricane Twister, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge ran very free and did not handle today's ground conditions

Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra; for each race won. Any horse rated above 80 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 10st. Subsequently, the excess over 80 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse.
