Sangarius (GB) arrived at the start with a small amount of blood in its mouth.
Having been examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, the colt was deemed fit to race.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 2 furlongs out involving Bangkok (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Silvestre De Sousa and Sangarius (GB), placed second, ridden by Richard Kingscote.
The interference was found to be accidental in that Kingscote had angled his mount right- handed off the heels of Palavecino (FR), placed third, at the same time that Palavecino (FR) lugged right-handed off the rail.
This had caused Kingscote's mount to become unbalanced and shift right- handed, bumping the hindquarters of Bangkok (IRE), whose rider, in an attempt to hold his line, had edged slightly left-handed at that point.
