An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference from 1 ½ furlongs out when Native Tribe (GB), placed second, ridden by William Buick, interfered with LOUGANNI, placed third, ridden by Hollie Doyle on 2 separate occasions.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Native Tribe (GB)’s placing as the ground and momentum lost by LOUGANNI was minimal with Doyle never having to stop riding.
In addition, Native Tribe (GB) always appeared to be holding LOUGANNI, with a neck between them at the line.
The interference was found to be accidental as Native Tribe (GB) shifted right before being quickly corrected carrying LOUGANNI off its intended line on both occasions.
The performance of Enemy (GB), which started favourite and finished last of four, was considered.
The representative of John Gosden could offer no explanation for the colt’s performance.
Enemy (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, William Buick reported that Native Tribe (GB), placed second, hung right-handed.
