The winner, Epictetus (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Ascot on 22 June 2023 where the colt finished thirteenth of sixteen runners, beaten by 10 lengths.
Thady and John Gosden’s explanation that the colt had benefitted from a drop back in trip from 1 mile 2 furlongs to a mile on this occasion, was noted.
Epictetus (IRE) was routine tested.
