Approximately 2 furlongs out, Beijing Billy (IRE), placed fifth, was checked when disappointed for a clear run after its rider had attempted to switch right around the heels of a weakening Cubano (IRE), placed eighth, at the same time as the winner, a free running Coupe De Champagne (GER), shifted slightly left after improving up inside the heels of Bosphorus (GB), placed second, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Beijing Billy (IRE) or Coupe De Champagne (GER).
Approaching the final furlong, Cubano (IRE), placed eighth, hung left-handed before being corrected by its rider, causing Spirit Level (GB), placed sixth, to be short of room against the rail, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Pierre-Louis Jamin reported that Cubano (IRE), placed eighth, ran too freely and Dylan Hogan reported that Maxine (IRE), placed third, suffered interference approaching the home turn.
