Permission was given for Liberty Bay (GB) to go early to post.
Leaving the stalls, Liberty Bay (GB), placed fourth, jumped slightly right-handed, causing Amor de Mi Vida (FR), placed second, to shift sharply right-handed and make contact with Minhaaj (IRE), placed fifth, resulting in that filly being carried off its intended line which in turn caused Exuding (GB), placed eighth, to be carried off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of any runner.
Following the race, Conrad Allen reported that Lucky Ava (GB), placed seventh, was unsuited by the going, which was officially described as Good to Firm on this occasion, and would prefer a slower surface.
