The Raceday Stewards interviewed T. Power Roche, rider of Only One Plan, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the Whip Regulations and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that T. Power Roche was in breach of Regulation 10.3(g)(excessive frequency) and having considered his record in this regard (second offence) they suspended him for five racedays

D.E. Mullins, rider of Kilbride Hill, trained by John Patrick Ryan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount stopped quicky up the back

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident half way up the back straight involving Point Gellibrand, ridden by M.J.M O'Sullivan, unplaced, and Kilbride Hill, ridden by D.E. Mullins, unplaced, where it appeared Kilbride Hill was retreating quickly causing Point Gellibrand to collide with the rail. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
