The Stewards noted that Cardboard Gangster (GB), placed sixth, was hampered at the fourth last fence by the faller, The Composeur (IRE).
The Stewards also noted that Jobsonfire (GB), placed second, made a bad mistake at the final fence, resulting in Charlie Price losing his left iron.
A short distance later, he kicked his right foot out of the iron and subsequently rode a finish without any irons.
The performance of Head On (IRE), which started favourite and was pulled up, was considered.
Charlie Todd reported that the gelding was never travelling and Ian Williams reported that Head On (IRE) did not jump fluently on this Good to Soft ground, which in his opinion rode tacky.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Head On (IRE) failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Jobsonfire (GB), placed second, was displaying signs of post-race heat stress.
