Robbie said he would go very close and rang me as he's stuck in traffic. He said to just ride him whatever way you find him and he pinged the gates and we were hacking. When I let him go at the two (furlong pole) he quickened and he only really had to race for two-and-a-half. He's an ex Moyglare horse and absolutely pinged over the surface; he has some action and covered the ground really well and seemed to enjoy it. I could barely pull him up and he flew home and won easy.

The Stewards requested a report from R.P. McNamara, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Cascavelle, placed first, as compared with its recent form. R.P. McNamara stated that he has only run his charge on two previous runs. On his first run in Galway he won a maiden race on good ground. On his last run in Cork, having run well early on, he ultimately didn't handle the soft ground conditions. In the opinion of R.P. McNamara Cascavelle is better suited to good conditions. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.
