I'm absolutely delighted for the filly and for the owners, the Fox family have been great supporters of mine. ‘Magic’, as we know her by, is a sister to Lily's Rainbow whom I won a Listed race with in Navan last year: she had big boots to fill and she's filled them and actually, dare I say it, I think she's better than Lily's Rainbow. There is more to her, she's stronger and bigger, and she's still growing. I think whatever she does now that she'll be better in the spring. She's a lovely filly. Tonight was the plan and we'll have to looks and see what there is now. With the fact that she is still growing she might just have a break now and let her rest on her laurels. I would hope she could be a black-type filly, and if her sister did it she can do it - I’ll tell her that!

The Stewards requested a report from P.J.Prendergast, trainer of War Hero, regarding the late arrival of the horse into the Parade Ring. P.J. Prendergast reported that he had to saddle 2 runners for this race and had difficulty fitting a tongue strap to War Hero. Having considered the report the Stewards accepted its content. J.A. Heffernan, rider of Blue Petal, trained by R. K. Watson, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount never travelled from the stalls. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Blue Petal, trained by R. K. Watson, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
An extended handicap for two yrs old only (70 = 9st 7lb)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap; shall not be less than 9st 7lb
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra; for each race won.
