After six withdrawals, nine lined up for the STL Logistics Handicap Chase and The Big Chap (11/2) scooped a tasty first prize of 27,000euro for the Glenmore Goes Racing Syndicate and trainer Paul Flynn

Danny Gilligan had partnered the seven-year-old to success in a Kilbeggan handicap hurdle last year on his only previous time to ride him and had the son of Policy Maker handy early on before settling into second place behind Caesar Rock

After heading the leader two out, The Big Chap went away to beat that rival by four-and-a-quarter lengths.

"It was a suitable race being for second-season novices and the ground was key," said Flynn.

"We had aimed for a race at Killarney this summer but it turned up soft, although he still ran well. That is his trip as well.

"We'll go to the November meeting in Cheltenham with him for a 0-145 which I think he'll get into and I would also love to go to Aintree with him too."
