Her half-brother Ferdia won at Ballinrobe last week and today at Clonmel, also for John Ryan, Bonarc got off the mark in the Ancient East Mares Maiden Hurdle.
Disqualified after a Roscommon win last summer — prohibited substance — Bonarc again had Danny Mullins aboard on this occasion and they bossed things from the front.
The successful Arcadio mare, owned by Mules & Tools Racing Syndicate, eventually accounted for the well-backed Raven Rule (11/2 into 4/1) by seven lengths.
"She lost a race last year due to a human anti-depressant drug showing up in her sample. In fairness to the Turf Club they gave me no fine but it was very unlucky for the owners to lose. It was terrible but they were even able to identify the person who was taking it,” said Ryan.
"It ruined her season last season and we were always chasing our tail but we'll turn over a new leaf now. We'll go for the novice route now.
"Danny was absolutely brilliant on her."
