Odonimee is a tremendously tough and game daughter of Idris and following the local success of Penny's Bill half-an-hour earlier there was a possibly even more well-celebrated win when the former landed the Pinnacle Novice Handicap Steeplechase at Wexford. The little bit of good ground helped and he loves it here. Apart from the last day (course and distance success four weeks ago) he also won a chase here and it was a good display of jumping. It was probably an ordinary enough race and he got his own way.

I had a winner last week in Tramore which was also ridden by Declan (Bates). This lad has been running consistently and he deserved to get his head in front. He has a dirty cut on his foot but if we can get that cleaned up he could go for a conditional riders handicap chase at Thurles in two weeks time. His owner Oliver Barden owns a pub in Dublin.

He'll train on to be a summer horse and we'll probably give him a little break now before bringing him back for the early summer,. It's lovely to win a maiden with him. It's my first winner for Oliver Barden, who owns O'Donoghues Pub in Dublin. Hopefully it's the first of many.
