Philip Rothwell, narrowly denied with Faanan Aldaar in the first, gained a measure of compensation in the fourth race at Downpatrick.
In the Square One Bar, Dromara Handicap Hurdle, Mark Enright and Rothwell's course and distance winner Paddy O Dee made all.
The now five-time victor, running off a mark 27Ibs lower than his chase rating, left Miranour (flattered to deceive) in his wake from the last to triumph by three and a quarter lengths.
Miranour had been the 'money horse' this morning but he was an easier to back 4/1 chance on track as support arrived for Battlemount (5/2 into 13/8). He ended up a well-beaten fifth.
Rothwell commented afterwards: "He appreciates a little bit of good ground. I told the boys that when he got good ground off this mark he'd win.
"He's been a great servant." (MG & EM)
