P.J. O'Hanlon, rider of Neptunus Equester trained by P.J. Rothwell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got hampered in the back straight and pulled up
The Stewards requested a report from John Patrick Ryan, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Father Jed, placed second and Cluan Dara, placed first, as compared with their recent form. John Patrick Ryan stated that the riding tactics where both horses were dropped in combined with the fast early pace helped both horses stay on in the latter stages and this in his opinion is what brought about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.
