The Stewards interviewed Mr J. Reddington, rider of Second Subaltern (USA), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, Mr J. Reddington admitted that he had breached the whip guidelines in two categories and added that he had lost count in a tight finish. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr J. Reddington was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency and R10(3)(i) by failing to allow his mount at least three strides to respond to the whip. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended Mr J. Reddington for two racedays

The Stewards interviewed Miss P. Elvin, rider of Phils Choice, concerning her use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In her evidence, Miss P. Elvin admitted that she had breached the whip guidelines. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that Miss P. Elvin was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using her whip with excessive frequency

Having taken her previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended Miss P. Elvin for four racedays
