he was very gutsy and he's a lovely horse. He lost his way a wee bit last year but hopefully he's back. We'll see what is coming up for him and look for something similar. He has a lot of experience; we were hoping he'd run well and Dillon gave him a brilliant ride. He doesn't usually handle that kind of ground so we're delighted. Mrs Caroline McCaldin, trainer

Prior to the meeting, the Raceday Stewards approved a request from Clerk of the Course, Mr. Brendan Sheridan, to amend the distance of this race to 3 miles 122 yards, due to rail realignment

The Raceday Stewards interviewed D.P. Maxwell, rider of Faith Loving (FR), concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted he was in breach of the whip guidelines. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that D.P. Maxwell was in breach of R10.3(g)(frequency) and having considered his record, they suspended him for 5 racedays.

An extended handicap steeplechase for four years old and upwards rated 0-102
Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each steeplechase won.
