The performance of Also Known As (IRE), which started favourite and pulled up, was considered.
It was noted that the representative of Jonjo O’Neill could offer no explanation for the gelding’s poor performance.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The winner, Big Changes (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Sedgefield on 23 February 2023, where the gelding finished fourth of seven runners, beaten 21 ¾ lengths on ground described as Good on the day.
Laura Morgan explained that the gelding preferred the quicker ground, described as Good-Good to Firm today and that the ground at Sedgefield rode tacky in her opinion.
Her explanation was noted and Big Changes (GB) was routine tested.
