Golden Sands (IRE) wore earplugs which were removed at the start.

An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race following possible interference inside the final furlong involving the dead-heat winners, Havana Goldrush (GB), ridden by Liam Keniry and Golden Sands (IRE), ridden by Joe Fanning.

It was established that Havana Goldrush (GB) had hung persistently left-handed despite Keniry’s best efforts to straighten the colt by using his whip down the shoulder for correction, which resulted in Golden Sands (IRE) potentially suffering marginal intimidation on more than one occasion when upsides Havana Goldrush (GB), however at all times there remained sufficient racing room for Fanning on the rail and there appeared no discernible contact between the runners, nor was Fanning ever obliged to stop riding his mount at any stage.

In the circumstances the interference was found to be accidental and the placings remained unaltered.
