Noel Meade revealed that he had a high opinion of Go Native before he ran and he fulfilled his promise here.

Meade said he had been surprised when the son of Double Eclipse could only finish ninth on his debut at Leopardstown on St Stephen's Day.

He was again disappointed last time when he failed to collect at Cork last Saturday and was reluctant to come here.

The gelding looked the third string in the morning and it appeared significant that Nina Carberry again overlooked him when Pandorama pulled out.

He got the job done well, however, getting the better of Lord Over from a furlong out. Jockey Chris Timmons appeared to ease him a little too early.

The runner-up looks a decent yardstick. He has some smart bumper form, which includes a third in the champion event here last season.

He made no impression over hurdles in testing conditions at Naas last time but could well be scoring in that sphere soon.

Kenlon tracked the leaders and was a close fourth two furlongs out. He had no more to offer in third over a furlong out when the rider lost his whip.

He looks sure to be collecting a bumper in the near future and looks a promising type.

Uimhiraceathair came to take it up before the turn but had no more to offer when headed a furlong-and-a-half out by Lord Over.

Paddy The Ref, moved into a moderate fifth two furlongs out, and kept on at the one pace.

Pandorama was a significant non-runner here, taken out because of the ground.
