Following two runs over hurdles in which the most recent was when he was 46 lengths last behind Forpadydeplasterer, Panzer Chief dropped back to this bumper where he finished well to deny Del Rio by four lengths.

This race saw what would have been the odds on favourite An Innocent Man withdrawn early in the day reported to be lame by trainer Noel Meade and that left this a far more open affair.

Panzar Chief was settled in rear throughout before making smooth headway approaching the turn in and it was there where he got into a battle with Del Rio and Immediate Response, the latter failed to really get involved but it was still an encouraging debut all the same.

Arthur Moore revealed that Panzar Chief would now be finished for the season and connections are looking forward to next year's hurdling campaign.

It was a good run from the second horse whose stable also released a decent run from a newcomer in a similar event 24 hours earlier.

Chasing Pavements represented connections who have tasted success in such events in recent months and while he may not have won here he should be capable of landing a similar race in the near future.

Having A Cut looked a worthy favourite but was a disappointing fifth on the basis of his form behind Cheltenham bumper winner Cousin Vinny.
