The winner, Supreme Escape (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Chepstow on 4 December 2021, where the gelding finished ninth of ten, beaten by 75 lengths.
The explanation from the representative of Evan Williams that the gelding was suited by a step up in trip and benefitted from the application of a first time visor was noted.
Luca Morgan, the rider of Almazhar Garde (FR), placed second, was suspended for 4 days for using his whip above the permitted level from the third last.
