He's a horse that has had a lot of problems and had the potential to be very good. He'd suspensory trouble after running at Thurles (in February) and at the time I had the good novice handicap at Navan in mind. He's entered in the Paddy Power but I don't think he'll get in. There is a race at Fairyhouse on New Years Day but he may wait for the Thyestes and should get into that. In fairness to Robbie he'd never sat on him until today and it was a real horseman's ride. D.N. Russell, rider of Toon River trained by Miss Mary Louise Hallahan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount made jumping mistakes. B.J. Cooper, rider of Empire Of Dirt, trained by C.A.Murphy, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount hung badly left.

An extended handicap steeplechase for four yrs old and upwards (140 = 11st 10lb)
Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap to carry 4lb extra for each such steeplechase won. Any horse rated above 140 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 11st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 140 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any four year old rated above 140 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
