The winner, Mac Bella (GB), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Hereford on 26 March 2019 where the mare finished fifth of the six runners, beaten by 24½ lengths.
It was noted that Evan Williams could offer no explanation for Mac Bella (GB)’s improved form other than the mare had jumped appreciably better than on any of her previous starts over hurdles.
Following the race, Leighton Aspell reported that Lady Cylla (GB), which was pulled up, stopped quickly and Charlie Price reported that Oriental Cross (IRE), which started favourite and finished fourth, ran flat.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Deja Bougg (GB), placed fifth, had post-race heat stress.
