The Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final furlong involving Mademoiselle Penny, ridden by R.P. Downey, placed first, Alcander (FR), ridden by O.J. Orr, placed second and Jazz Ranger, ridden by D.E. Hogan, placed third. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the judge's placings, they were however of the opinion that R.P.Downey was in breach of Rule 214, in that he rode carelessly and having considered his clean record, cautioned him concerning his future responsibilities in this regard.
An extended handicap for four yrs old and upwards rated 45-70
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra; for each race won.
