The Stewards requested a report from J.P.Dempsey, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Whatareudoingtome, winner, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that on his second last run at Naas on 19th October, his charge made a bad mistake at the 3rd last hurdle, and lost any chance thereafter. He then ran at Punchestown on 15th November in his first handicap hurdle and he disappointed badly, but he could find no explanation for the poor showing. That day he dropped him back in trip to 2m, and any apparent improvement in form shown today may have been as a result of the significant step up in trip to 2m7f and his rider claiming 5lbs off a light weight. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanations offered.
