Permission was given for Kyllachys Tale (IRE) to go early to post.
Rossa Ryan, the rider of Gabriela Laura (GB), was slow to remove the blindfold resulting in his horse being slow to start.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Ryan’s explanation that the filly had been slightly restless in the stalls and when the stalls had opened Gabriela Laura (GB) had ducked its head as he had tried to remove the blindfold at the first attempt and it therefore took a second attempt to remove the headgear, was noted.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 5 furlongs out when Arctic Flower (IRE), placed second, ridden by George Rooke, interfered with the winner, Magical Ride (GB), ridden by Sean Kirrane, which in turn interfered with Kyllachys Tale (IRE), placed seventh, ridden by Jason Watson.
Being 7lb claimers, Rooke and Kirrane were offered the opportunity to have someone accompany them in the enquiry, but declined.
Rooke was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift right-handed without correction, carrying Magical Ride (GB) onto Kyllachys Tale (IRE).
