An enquiry was held following a report from the Veterinary Officer that Sam Thomas had presented the incorrect horse at the racecourse stables for identification in the place of Docte Dina (FR), which was declared to run in the 5.
35pm race.
They interviewed the Veterinary Officer, the Equine Welfare and Integrity Officer and the trainer.
Having heard their evidence, they referred the matter to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority and ordered Docte Dina (FR) to be withdrawn.
Permission was given for Hudson Yard (IRE) and The City Cobbler (GB) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring only.
It was noted that The City Cobbler (GB) jinked out at the dividing rail in the back straight, putting the filly out on the Chase course and therefore the rider pulled up, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no other horse or rider was involved.
Approaching the final furlong marker, the winner, Wynn House (GB), hung right-handed onto The Milan Girl (IRE), placed second, despite the rider’s efforts to correct the filly, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the pacing of Wynn House (GB).
Also approaching the final furlong marker, Pogo I Am (GB), placed third, jinked left-handed, giving a nudge to Molly Ollys Wishes (GB), placed fourth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Pogo I Am (GB).
