The Stewards received a request from Anthony Mullins, trainer of Shannak, to substitute the nominated rider T.P. Treacy, with D.E.Mullins, due to the nominated rider being unable to make the weight. The trainer stated that he nominated T.P. Treacy without establishing his availability, having being let down at the last minute by his original rider.
