Permission was given for Antiphon (IRE) to go early to post wearing a red hood.
Secret Handsheikh (GB), drawn 9, anticipated the start and accelerated the gate at the same moment as the race had been started.
Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
Inside the final furlong, Skallywag Bay (GB), unplaced, shifted left-handed at the same time as Faustus (GB), placed fifth, moved right-handed resulting in Antiphon (IRE), placed fourth, having to switch right- handed and become short for room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong involving the winner, Conquistador (GB), ridden by Jack Doughty and Haymaker (GB), placed second, ridden by Billy Loughnane.
Being a 7lb claiming apprentice, Doughty was accompanied by a senior rider.
The interference was found to be accidental as Conquistador (GB) drifted sharply left-handed, despite Doughty’s best efforts, resulting in Haymaker (GB) to receive a bump and be carried slightly off its intended line.
Following the race, Billy Loughnane reported that Haymaker (GB), placed second, jumped awkwardly away from the stalls.
