The Veterinary Officer reported that a pre-race examination deemed the gelding fit to race.
The winner, Torcello (IRE), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Kempton Park on 7 August 2019 where the gelding finished seventh of nine, beaten by 12¾ lengths.
Shaun Lycett’s explanation that Torcello (IRE) had benefitted from getting an easy lead on the Soft ground was noted; the gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, James Doyle reported that Power Of States (IRE), placed eighth, stopped quickly; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the colt failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Adam Kirby reported that Pour Me A Drink (GB), which started favourite and finished fifth, was denied a clear run; the Veterinary Officer reported that the gelding was struck into on its left fore.
