An enquiry was held to consider interference entering the first bend between Contact (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Connor Beasley, the winner, Prydwen (IRE), ridden by Billy Loughnane, Evania (GB), unplaced, ridden by Daniel Muscutt.

Connor Beasley was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his horse to drift left-handed when entering the bend, crowding Prydwen (IRE) for room and causing it to make Contact with Evania (GB) to his inside.

The winner, Prydwen (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Lingfield on 18 February 2023 where the filly finished seventh, beaten 11 ½ lengths.

George Scott’s representative’s explanation that the gelding stripped fitter for its first run of the season where it had been unsuited by a slow pace on that occasion was noted.

Prydwen (IRE) was routine tested.

The performance of Evania (GB), which finished unplaced, was considered.

Kevin Philippart de Foy’s representative could offer no explanation other than the rider reported that the mare was unsuited by the tight nature of the Wolverhampton track was noted.

The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the mare failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Connor Beasley the rider of Contact (IRE), placed fourth, struck Base Note (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Harry Burns, once over the nose with the whip, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was considered to be accidental.
