Too Many Chiefs (IRE) reared and unseated its rider on the way to post.
The gelding cantered loose for a short distance before being caught.
Having been examined by the Doctor and the Veterinary Surgeon, both the rider and horse were deemed fit to race.
An enquiry was held to consider interference half way between the second last and final hurdles involving Turtle Wars (FR), placed seventh, ridden by Charlotte Jones and Akarita Lights (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Charlie Todd.
Both jockeys were accompanied in the enquiry by senior riders.
Jones was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as she allowed her mount to drift left under a right-handed drive when insufficiently clear, causing Akarita Lights (IRE) to be checked off the rails and become unbalanced.
The performance of Longhousesignora (IRE), which finished unplaced, was considered.
The representative of Venetia Williams could offer no explanation for the mare’s performance.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Longhousesignora (IRE) during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Turtle Wars (FR), placed seventh, had a cut on its right fore and that Behind Time (IRE), which was pulled up, was lame on its left fore.
