The Stewards requested a report from Gordon Elliott, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Zanjabeel (GB), placed first, as compared with its recent form. Ian Amond, Authorised representative for Gordon Elliot reported that this animal was ungenuine by nature and the tactics used today whereby he jumped off smartly and got a lead on this undulating track contributed to the improved run. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report. R. Loughran, rider of Double Speak trained by Mrs D.A.Love, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount did not handle the track.
