Harry Cobden, the rider of Anniversary Gift (GB), was unseated at the final hurdle after pulling up.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no other horse or rider was involved and was caused by the gelding ducking right towards the hurdle and making contact with the wing, unseating Cobden.
Following the race, Nico de Boinville reported that Morning Vicar (IRE), unplaced, stopped quickly and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding, during routine examination, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
