Rockazar is another who deserved this on the basis of his consistency and considering the yard out of which he comes, it is no surprise that his best effort in a long time came on this surface. That was a first win for the seven-year-old in almost two-years to the day since he won a handicap at Naas off 81. Having reached a high of 91, he was winning here off 74 and it will be interesting to see if this win will work as a stepping stone to further success. Only time will tell.

Johnny Murtagh had to be at his very best to get him up but there was a length and a half in at the end as he overcame top weight Princely Hero fair and square. The winner had four-pounds in hand and that could have proved crucial at the death but it was yet another decent effort from the four-year-old.

Regaleya was only a further head back and after finishing well behind Alone He Stands at Leopardstown, was many peoples fancy to pass the judge in front on this occasion.

She too has been a consistent performer and deserves a win for connections put she is just finding it hard to get it all her own way.

Maximo had one previous run on the flat in this country where he was second and prior to that he filled the runner up spot on his last three runs on the level in Germany and having been prominent throughout he had to settle for fourth on this occasion. Likely to be mixed over hurdles and on the level but not proving the most reliable to date.

There was a seven length gap back to Silly Dancer who stayed on the best of the remainder without ever getting involved.
