Captain Guinness lands the odds in style
I’m delighted with that and Rachael was really happy with him. He took a little blow turning in and is having another good blow now so hopefully he will come on from that. It’s great to get him back on track. Obviously he was very disappointing the first day and hopefully we can keep the heart right. Rachael said it’s very testing ground and she thinks he’ll be better on nicer ground. He did a piece of work since Tipperary and worked well. He’s just been tipping away since and we keep monitoring the heart. Certainly before and after he runs now we will always check his heart. Christmas may come a bit soon but there is a nice race at Naas in early January. He can go there and if all goes well then to the Irish Arkle.

Moore successfully deputises on Hardy Bloke
He’s a nice horse and hopefully will continue to improve. He jumps fences well, he won a point-to-point. He handled the ground ok. We had to hobday him after his first run when he pulled up in Leopardstown. He was beaten by a good horse in the north last time and we put a tongue tie on him today. We’ll try and find a rated novice for him. He did well to pick up on that ground after a mistake at the last.

Fighting Fit lives up to his name for the Dempseys
The drop back in drop probably helped him. He travelled well today and his jumping was good. Sometimes his jumping can be a bit over exuberant. We’ll take our time with him and hopefully he continues on a learning curve.

The Banger Doyle gets his day in the bumper
He’s been a consistent horse and has run every race to the line. I’m more than happy to get that for John (Nicholson, owner/breeder). He’s had five bumpers so he deserves a break now. He’s as tough as nails. We have been nearly forced to run him as he’s been so well.
