FormscanBy Mark Nunan - Last year's Chesham Stakes winner SNELLEN has come back to form recently and followed up her win at Limerick with a fine second in a premier handicap at Leopardstown. Gavin Cromwell's filly finished in front of Shayzann on that occasion and is 5lb better off with that rival which gives her a good chance of confirming the form. A premier handicap winner over 1m4f, Star Kissed twice ran well in course and distance contests last month before bumping into an improver at Killarney. If first-time blinkers have the desired effect, she can go close. Course winner Vestigia ran well in a useful contest at Navan last time but faces a stiff task against the selection at these weights.%0A%0A

it was lovely to win his maiden, it was a very nice run the first day and a track like this really suited him. I put him in the Meld Stakes today and we'll see where we go from there. Ben (Coen) said he hit the line well and he'll definitely get another furlong, probably two. He's a big horse and I think he's going to improve with a bit of racing. He always showed plenty of ability it was just a matter of giving him time and letting him mature into his size. Ben said he rode him like a favourite, there wasn't that much pace on and he arrived there well. He said he liked the way he dug down in the last half a furlong and he would have learned a lot today.

this was an unlucky race for us until now — we've run some good horses which have been beaten but she is after putting that right. The previous race was always our race!. we're delighted with how she is progressing through the ranks in baby steps. Today is the first day she looked like she had filled into her frame and as we said previously, it is all about next year. If she is good enough next year we'll look for black-type. She is keeping the show on the road for us and I'm delighted for Maurice (Regan) as he is a great patron of ours and he'll get a great kick out of that as she is from a good family.

I've always liked him, thought a lot of him. He just wasn't scoping clean after his runs so he was due to do that. I was freaking out here today with the ground so I just asked Robbie to take his time. . When he got it together he finished off lovely. He was short a gallop so I was a little bit worried but I just had to get him started as we were so long waiting. . He shouldn't be a maiden as he should have won the race at the Curragh last year, he was unlucky not to get the race in the stewards room.
