Johnny Burke returns on Loosen My Load

Johnny Burke's new job as retained rider for owners Alan and Ann Potts got off to the perfect start when Loosen My Load landed the Ryans Cleaning Chase at Galway.
The conditional rider has only recently taken up his new job and after being handy throughout on Henry De Bromhead's 3-1 chance, he coaxed enough out of his charge to outstay Armaramak by three and three-quarter lengths.< Flaxen Flare made amends for a Cork fall when landing the Galway City And Salthill Publicans Charity Hurdle.
Gordon Elliott's 6-4 joint-favourite had allowed Plinth to take advantage last time, but made no mistake in the jumping department under Barry Geraghty.
Plinth appeared to get first run on the turn for home, but Flaxen Flare reeled him in after the last before going on to win by two lengths.
Plinth's trainer Aidan O'Brien gained some compensation for that defeat when Robbie Power drove Noah Webster home for the Ballydoyle handler in the Galway City And Salthill Publicans Handicap Hurdle, beating She's A Leader by four lengths.
Plinth and Noah Webster are both owned by JP McManus, who secured a double on the card when Please Talk struck in the Eventus Beginners Chase.
Noel Meade's 1-4 chance was always to the fore under Mark Walsh and though Abarta briefly looked a threat after the last, Please Talk was far too strong in the closing stages, winning by seven and a half lengths.< Dazzling Susie s brave effort from the front in the Guiness Handicap Chase was all in vain as Kevin Sexton timed it just right on Coldstonesober
The 9-2 chance was fifth turning the elbow, but he stayed on gamely up the straight to score.< Dandridge confirmed the promise he had shown in two bumpers when easing to victory in the Mervue Maiden Hurdle.
Arthur Moore's 4-6 favourite kept on best of all under David Casey to beat Rocky Court by four and three-quarter lengths.
