Bridge Does it Again for Bagnall at Kilbeggan
Kinnegad hotelier, Robert Bagnall loves to have winners at his local track and Rocheford Bridge obliged for him for the second time at Kilbeggan when finding the best reserves of stamina to land the Coola Handicap Hurdle by four and a half lengths under Paul Carberry.
The joint top-weighted son of Overbury chased the clear leader Unique Moment improving to head her three out but after hanging away to his left before the bypassed two out, he was headed by Just Two Numbers However he was in front again before the last and the result wasn't in much doubt from that point on as he accounted for the favourite, Saddler's Native
Successful trainer, Noel Meade said: "I thought two miles was too short for him but it was the only race suitable. He ducked away towards the stable yard but that worked out well for him because of the bypassed hurdle. He ran over fences in Fairyhouse and maybe that helped him today because he jumped well there. He was entered in the sales but we said we'd keep him for Kilbeggan and he'll be back here as he seems to prefer smaller tracks."
