Follow Seamie on Wednesdays at Dundalk
Having notched a double at last Wednesday's fixture, Seamie Heffernan went one better a week on when McVay, sent off 9/4 second-favourite, was too sharp for 11/10 favourite Perretti in the two-year-old maiden. Wed 13th DecAnother competitive Dundalk card comes rolling around
There are four meetings still to come at Dundalk in the run-up to Christmas with a three-week interval to follow Friday week's meeting at the popular Louth venue. Wed 13th Dec
After race at Dundalk Wed, 13th Dec, 2023 (1st)
I am delighted with that. He is a horse that I just had to be patient with because he hasn't missed a beat, but I just felt he would benefit from a little bit of time. I always suspected he is going to be a better three-year-old - plenty of size and scope and has pedigree. He is really only getting it together now, so he is exciting. That (trip) is the question at the minute. I spoke to Seamus about it there and he said if he goes a mile he'll be a nice one as he felt he has class and travels, and took him into the race easy on the bridle. I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up a six-furlong horse, it is a fast family. Time will tell, but he did the job there today over seven. He has a low action and is a good straight mover, he wants a smooth surface. I won't be bogging him down in anything but better ground.
